Afterpay provides customers monthly statements that customers access through their Afterpay app. When your statement is ready, you will receive an email advising your statement is available, with a link to where your statement can be accessed in the Afterpay app - make sure that you have updated to the latest version of the app.
Overview
1. Transactions
This section provides a summary of your Afterpay activity, including orders, refunds and payments made over the statement period, excluding any fees related to your Afterpay Plus subscription (if applicable).
Please note that payments made directly to our bank account or through a debt collection agency will appear on your statement on the date they are processed to your Afterpay account, not on the date the payment was made.
2. Opening and Closing balance
This section of your statement shows two key balances:
- Opening Balance: Your account balance of your Afterpay account on the first day of your statement period
- Closing Balance: Your account balance of your Afterpay account on the last day of your statement period
Only activity that is financed by the credit we provide will be reflected in your opening and closing balance.
What is reflected in the opening/closing balance?
- New orders and instalments paid, except the first order instalment payment at the time you made the order
- Other payments made toward your account balance (for example, when you make a payment via a debt collection agency or a payment you made under a payment arrangement)
- Refunds made to your Afterpay account
- Debt waivers or reduction of amount owed
What isn't reflected in the opening/closing balance?
- Order value that forms the first instalment payment, when paid at the time of the order
- Late fees (both paid from and refunded to your linked card or bank account)
- Other refunds made directly to your linked card or to your bank account
3. Other information
The final section of your statement includes helpful resources about understanding your statement and where to find support if you need it.
