When your Afterpay account has a $0 balance, you can close your account at any time via the Afterpay app or website.

Reduce what you can spend with Afterpay
To close your account
Closing your account is permanent and cannot be reversed. You also won’t be able to apply for a new Afterpay account in the future.
Via the website:
- Log in to your account
- Make sure that your account has a $0 balance
- Select the 'Account' option on the left side of the screen
- Select 'Close my account' which appears at the bottom under the 'Your details' heading
- Select a reason as to why you are wishing to close your account
- Select the action you would like to take i.e. close your account and press confirm.
Via the app:
- Log in to your account
- Tap the person icon in the bottom right of your screen
- Tap your profile in the top right of your screen.
- Make sure that your account has a $0 balance
- Tap the 'Personal' tab
- Scroll down and tap 'Close my account'
- Select a reason as to why you are wishing to close your account and continue.
- Select the action you would like to take, i.e. close your account and confirm.
