Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive an account statement?
The date that you receive your account statement will be based on the date you opened your Afterpay account. For example, if you opened your account on the 15th of June, you will receive a statement on or around the 15th of every month.
If your account opening date is a date that does not exist in every month, such as the 31st, your statement will be available on the 1st of the proceeding month.
What periods will the account statements cover?
Each account statement will cover approximately the last 30 days of your Afterpay account activity. For example, if you receive your statement on the 15th of each month, your statement would cover the period between the 15th of the previous month, to the end of day on the 14th of the current month.
Can I generate a statement for a certain period?
Currently this isn’t possible, and we can only provide information on your statement within the specified statement period. Information on your account activity outside of the statement period is always available to you in the Afterpay app or on the website.
Can I opt out of emails notifying me of my statement?
In line with our regulatory requirements, we must send you certain information about your Afterpay account, including account statements, payment reminders and other important updates.
This means we’re unable to stop sending servicing messages to you, even if you choose to opt out of marketing messages. You can update your communication preferences at any time in the Settings section in the Afterpay app.
Will I always receive a monthly account statement?
You will receive an account statement so long as you have been ‘active’ within the statement period. Being ‘active’ includes activities such as placing a new order, having an outstanding balance, making a payment or incurring a fee that you haven’t paid.
You will not receive an account statement if no debits or credits have been made on your account during the statement period and your outstanding balance is $0.
I’ve closed my account - will I receive a statement?
When your account is closed, a final statement will be generated. You will receive an email advising when this statement is generated and available.
I can’t access the app, how do I get my statement?
Contact our team here and we will be happy to send you a copy of your statement by email.
