To make it easy for you to stick to your payment plan, Afterpay will direct debit your payment from your preferred card on the due date. We will always send you reminders before an installment is due, so you just need to make sure that there is enough money in your account for that installment and we will do the rest!
Tenured customers that have multiple instalments due on the same date, with the same payment method will have their payments automatically bundled and processed in one transaction. This means you’ll only get one payment confirmation email, instead of multiple. If the payment fails, we will re-attempt to process the instalments individually on the same day. Please note, orders that have Apple Pay as a payment method will not be included in automatic bundling.
Tip! If you’ve been charged an amount that looks different to what you’re expecting, please double check the payment confirmation email that is sent to you as your payments may have been bundled. This email will clearly show you the total amount that has been processed, the payment method and which instalments were paid, along with the relevant order number.
You also have the option to make a manual payment for an installment at any time before the due date. See how here.

What happens if a direct debit declines?
We will send you an SMS and an email letting you know that your direct debit has declined.
If a payment declines when we attempt to debit it, we'll try and collect your payment from any other cards you may have on your account.
If your payment is still outstanding, you may be charged a late fee. If you're worried that you won't be able to make a payment, get in touch so we can get you some help!
To make an overdue payment, you can log in to your App or online and make the payment yourself! If you would like to learn more about this, click here.
