How to make a purchase in-person with the Afterpay Card and Afterpay Plus Card

What's the difference between the Afterpay Card and Afterpay Plus Card?
Both are digital cards that live in your phone’s wallet and can be used to tap and pay in-person on eligible purchases.
Afterpay Card
- Free to download via the Afterpay app.

Shop in-person at participating retailers that accept Afterpay.
- Find nearby stores by browsing the In-Store tab in the Afterpay app.

Afterpay Plus Card
- Afterpay Plus is available by invitation only.
- For $9.99 a month, tap and pay in store or online almost anywhere Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay is accepted — from movies to meals, mechanics to massages and so much more.

- If you’re already using the Afterpay Card, upgrading to Afterpay Plus will automatically replace your standard card in your digital wallet.
Setting up your Afterpay Card or Afterpay Plus Card

Download the Afterpay app (or update to the latest version).

Set up your digital card:
- Open the app and tap the In-Store tab.

Follow the prompts to add your digital card to your Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay wallet.

Find participating stores (if you’re using the Afterpay Card):
Browse the In-Store tab to find places near you that accept Afterpay.
Note: Afterpay Plus can be used almost anywhere contactless payments are accepted (some restrictions apply).
How to tap and pay in-person
When you're ready to pay:
- Open your phone’s digital wallet.
- Select your digital Afterpay Card or Afterpay Plus Card.
- Tap your phone on the card reader to pay.
Once your purchase is accepted, your payments will be scheduled just as they would be for an online purchase.

What if I'm asked for a PIN?
To set or update your PIN:

How much can I spend?

Your available spend
The amount you can spend is based on your Afterpay 'available to spend', which you can view in the My Afterpay tab in the app. -
Minimum spend
Afterpay doesn’t set a minimum spend amount, but some stores might. If you’re unsure, check with the store you are wishing to make a purchase at directly. -
Maximum spend
Your estimated available to spend is shown in the In-Store tab of the Afterpay app. As above, some stores may set a maximum spend amount.
