If you have a new mobile number and the verification code is being sent to your old number, you can still access your account by logging in with your email address.
Log in with your email
1. Open the Afterpay app or go to afterpay.com.
2. Select Log in.
3. Select Log in with email (or Use email instead).
4. Enter the email address associated with your Afterpay account.
5. Enter your password.
6. When prompted for a verification code, select Email as your delivery method (instead of SMS).
7. Check your email inbox for the verification code from Afterpay.
8. Enter the code and follow the prompts to access your account.
Tip: If you don't see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
Forgot your password? Select "Forgot password" on the login screen. A reset link will be sent to your email address. Follow the link to create a new password, then continue from step 5 above.
Update your phone number after logging in
Once you've logged in, update your mobile number so future verifications go to the right place:
1. Go to your Account settings.
2. Select Personal details or Phone number.
3. Enter your new mobile number and confirm.
If you can't log in with your email
If you no longer have access to your email address either, or if the email verification option isn't available on the verification screen, get in touch with Afterpay Support so we can help you recover your account.
As part of the recovery process, we may:
• Temporarily freeze your account to protect its security
• Ask you to verify your identity with documentation
The freeze prevents purchases on your account until you complete the recovery steps. We'll include all instructions in our message to you.
