I need to move a payment date
If we approve a purchase and you get into trouble, (which can happen to the best of us!) Please get in touch to see if we can help.
If you need help with moving a single payment date, you may be able to do this yourself. Instructions on how to check are here.
I’m facing financial hardship
Your first step is to contact us here. No matter how much you owe, our hardship policy is available to every Afterpay community member.
We've worked hard to develop a Hardship Policy that lets us work together if you have trouble making repayments.
Based on your unique circumstances, we have options we can consider to get you back on track and back in control of your money. Whether this means we stick to your current instalment plan but keep talking or we come up with a new payment plan that reflects your circumstances, or we make sure you don't get any extra fees - we do have options we can discuss.
So if you are facing missed payments for a number of reasons - from natural disaster to unemployment to domestic violence - make sure you reach out. Together we will come up with a plan to get you back on track.
You may also find the National Building Financial Capability Charitable Trust website helpful. Financial counselling is a free service offered by community organisations, community legal centres and some government agencies.
Ask for a refund from the retailer. We recommend getting in touch directly with the retailer to see if you’re eligible to return the goods and get a refund (in line with their return policy). Once approved, Afterpay will amend or cancel your repayments immediately.
I paid late, what happens next?
While you are overdue, you will not be able to place any new orders.
