Afterpay is committed to working with our community to promote responsible spending. This means Afterpay community members buying what they can afford, and paying according to our short instalment plan.
To help with this, we limit Afterpay to people who are 18 years or older and who are genuinely committed to working with us to plan, book, buy and pay responsibly.
This means all Afterpay users have their ID verified. However, for most this will be done automatically when they sign-up, without requiring any further information.
For a small group of customers we can’t immediately verify through this process, we will need additional information.
You can check the status of your verification, and provide additional verification information, online in “My Account” under “Profile Verification”, and also by clicking the Person Icon on the App.
You can help verify your identity by providing us with details of your Driver’s Licence and your Medicare Card.
If you don’t have a Driver’s Licence or Medicare Card you can contact us here and provide alternative forms of identity verification including your Passport or Proof of Age Card.
You can start the verification process by clicking on the image below and we will do our best to make a decision within 2 business days.
If you are one of our lovely friends from overseas, please send us a copy of one of the following: passport profile page, visa page, ID card, plus proof of address via a bank statement, bill or some other government document like a tax form or rate notice.
